Mark A. Blount, Esq., is the founding partner of the Law Office of Mark A. Blount, LLC.  His firm is located in Chester, New Jersey where he has practiced for over twenty-five years. Mr. Blount focuses his practice in the areas of residential and commercial real estate, land use, zoning and development matters. 

He has represented owners, developers, construction managers and municipalities in all aspects of land development from land acquisition and financing through the site plan, subdivision or variance approvals. He has also handled the sale or lease of the approved projects and any appeals and litigation relating to the approvals.
 

Mr. Blount also has extensive experience in corporate and commercial transactions, including financing, leasing and contract transactions and the formation, acquisition and sale of business entities. Mr. Blount devotes a significant portion of his practice to the area of municipal and local government law by representing municipalities and their Land Use Boards. Mr. Blount practices in the area of complex civil and general equity litigation as well, representing clients through construction and contract litigations.

Mr. Blount is admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Federal Claims, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the Supreme Court of New Jersey.

Mr. Blount is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association as well as the Morris County Bar Association.  He is a Past President of the Morris County Bar Association as well as Past President of the Morris County Bar Foundation. He was appointed by the New Jersey Supreme Court to serve on the District X Ethics Committee and the District X Fee Arbitration Committee. He also served as a member of the Supreme Court of New Jersey Minority Concerns Committee for the Morris/Sussex Vicinage and the Morris County Judicial and Prosecutorial Appointments Committee.

Mr. Blount graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and received his Juris Doctor degree from Villanova University School of Law.
